Music, A Universal Language
My first blog explained what Vocalized Energy is, and what can be considered energy. Today I want to expound on how music relates to everything in the Universe and is a Universal language. To do that I need to first explain what and how sound, or music, is received through the senses.
What is sound? Sound is a longitudinal wave phenomenon that consists of successive compressions and rarefactions of the medium through which the wave travels (*1). Or to put it in another way, sound is vibration perceived through the body.
Pitch refers to the highness or lowness of a tone, which is related to the frequency of a tone. A high frequency vibrating source produces a sound of high pitch; a low frequency vibrating source produces a sound of low pitch. (*2)
Frequency is a vibrating body or medium, the number of vibrations per unit time. For a wave, the number of crest that pass a particular point per unit time. Frequency is measured in hertz (Hz) *3.
Now that there is some understanding of sound and frequency we can relate it back to energy. Each frequency has a specific energy and pitch. Today, all musical instruments are tuned to 440Hz which relates to a specific pitch or tone which is A.
Our standard tuning was not always 440Hz, in fact, this is a relatively new tuning. Concert pitch C=128Hz used to be A=432Hz. It became a standard tuning in America in 1926 and acoustic instruments began being produced around 1936. It did not become an International tuning until 1955 when all acoustic instruments were tuned to A=440Hz.
Ironically, if we look at it in terms of numerology 4+4+0=8 and the standard piano keyboard is 88 keys. 8 is a karmic equalizer, or a force that can create or destroy. Universal Spiritual Law of cause and effect and can be considered materialistic.
If we look at 432Hz which is 4+3+2=9 and in numerology 9 represent wisdom and initiations. 9 is both masculine and feminine and a completion number. 1-8 ironically adds to 9 like so 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8=36 and 3+6=9. If you add any number to 9 it adds back to its self 5+9=14 and 1+4=5. If you multiply any number to 9 its adds back to 9 like 9x8=72 and 7+2= 9 432=A in Pythagorean tuning. 9 also represents natural law and spiritual comfort.
This video has some good information about tuning and how it effects us and the fundamentals of pitch, sound and the Fibonacci sequence in natural world, like our ears. All things respond to sound. If we get back to physics and that nothings rests, or is in a constant state of vibration, it is easy to see the relationship of music being a Universal language because our cells, and the cells of all living things are in a constant state of vibration.
This is how music works. Vibrations of strings create specific tones and our cells respond either positively or negatively to the vibrations. We either turn it up, or off, or we begin to dance and sing which is also vibrations of our vocal chords.
